ANTEBELLUM PERFORMS AT THE NEW EVENTS CENTER AT HARRAHS-CHEROKEE.
They're one of the hottest
musical groups in the country right now and the appearance of
Lady Antebellum as headliners for the Labor Day opening celebation
at Harrah's-Cherokee Casino & Hotel
was expected to pack the house. They did not disappoint.
Singing their box-office
hits "I Need You Now," "I Run
To You" and others, the group had the audience on their feet for
most of the action-packed concert. Many had been on hand
the night before for Hank Williams Jr. and his kick-off celebration. They
were "ready to party" on through Saturday night!
Harrah's-Cherokee has announced
a whole slew of star performances for this new 3,000-seat Events
Center, with four VIP suites, box seating and more than one thousand
seats in the balcony. They
expect conventions, banquets and special events to make full use
of the plush seating and the full banquet kitchen.
The Events Center is just
one of the projects underway as part of a $633-million expansion,
scheduled for completion in 2012. It's
the biggest hospitality developments underway in the southeast
and one of the largest in the U.S. Situated on a 56-acre
property, Harrah's Cherokee has a master plan to add 532 luxury
guest rooms and suites, providing the greatest number of hotel
accommodations in North and South Carolina. And, in addition
to the new Events Center, they're planning new entertainment and
VIP lounges, an 18,000-foot spa, all new state-of-the-art poker
room, an Asian gaming room, and a variety of new restaurant and
retail outlets, including plans for a new Paula Deen's Kitchen
and retail outlet. With all this, who needs Vegas?
